Privacy Policy

Who we are

Stride is operated by Stride Hockey Performance, LLC ("Stride", "we", "us"). This policy covers the Stride iOS app, the Stride Apple Watch app, and the website at stridehockey.app. Questions about this policy can be sent to nate@stridehockey.app.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account details: your name and email address, or the identifier Apple provides if you use Sign in with Apple.
• Athlete profile: details such as age range, height, weight, position, level of play, training goals, body composition goals, and food preferences.
• Performance data: assessment results (for example vertical jump, 10 meter acceleration, flying 10, blue line to blue line times, strength numbers, bar velocity, and mobility screens), completed workouts, and the scores Stride calculates from them.
• Hockey data: your game and practice schedule and the stats you log, such as goals, assists, and plus/minus.
• Messages: anything you send us when you contact support.

Health and activity data (only with your permission)

If you grant access, Stride reads data from Apple Health (HealthKit) and Apple Watch, such as heart rate, workouts, movement, and speed during games and training. Stride may also write completed workouts back to Apple Health. You control this access in the iOS Settings app under Health, and you can turn it off at any time. The rest of the app continues to work without it.

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, crash reports, and basic information about how features are used. We use this to fix bugs and improve the app.
• Website data: stridehockey.app may use privacy respecting analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. If you join our email list, we store the email address you give us.

Purchases

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's in app purchase system. Apple processes your payment. We never receive or store your card number. We receive confirmation of your subscription status so we can unlock the app.

How we use your information

• To build your performance profile, identify your limiter, and prescribe and adapt your training and nutrition.
• To plan training around your hockey schedule.
• To show you your progress over time.
• To provide support and respond to your requests.
• To keep the app secure, fix problems, and improve how it works.
• To send service messages, such as account and subscription notices. Marketing email is sent only if you opt in, and every message includes an unsubscribe link.

Our commitments on health data

• We do not sell health data or any other personal data.
• We do not use HealthKit or Apple Watch data for advertising or marketing, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not disclose health data to third parties except service providers that help us run Stride, as described below, and only for that purpose.
• We do not store HealthKit data in iCloud.

How information is shared

We share personal information only in these situations:

• Service providers: companies that host our servers, store data, deliver email, or provide crash reporting, under contracts that limit them to acting on our instructions.
• Apple: for Sign in with Apple, in app purchases, and HealthKit, under Apple's own privacy policy.
• Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Stride, our users, or others.
• Business transfer: if Stride is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, and this policy will continue to apply to it.

Coach and team features are planned for the future. If you join a team, the information shared with your coach will be described to you in the app before you join.

Storage, security, and retention

Your data is stored on your device and on secure servers operated by our hosting providers in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to the people and services that need it to operate Stride.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to keep certain records, such as transaction records.

Your choices and rights

• Access and correction: you can view and edit your profile and results in the app.
• Deletion: you can delete your account from inside the app under Settings, or by emailing nate@stridehockey.app. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Subscriptions are cancelled in your Apple ID settings.
• Health permissions: manage or revoke these at any time in iOS Settings.
• Export: you can request a copy of your data by email.
• Regional rights: depending on where you live (for example California, other US states with privacy laws, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Canada), you may have additional rights, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing and the right to lodge a complaint with a regulator. We honor these requests regardless of where you live. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising their rights.

Children

Stride is for athletes aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Athletes between 13 and 17 should use Stride with the permission of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
