STRIDE

Not another workout app.
A hockey performance system.

Stride measures your speed, explosiveness, strength, and mobility — finds what's limiting your game — and builds your training around it. Then adapts as you improve.

Train with purpose · Play with power

Training

Eight qualities.
One system.

Performance is the interaction of eight qualities. Stride measures all of them — and trains the one holding you back.

Force

Strength

Your force-producing ceiling. Stride tracks not just how much you lift — but how fast the bar moves.

Force × Time

Power

Hockey gives you fractions of a second to produce force. Explosive intent and velocity-based training make your strength usable.

First 3 strides

Acceleration

Most of hockey happens in short bursts, not top speed. 10-meter testing and acceleration work win the races that matter.

Blue line to blue line

Speed

Flying-10 and blue-line-to-blue-line testing separate raw speed from acceleration — and give you a measurable target, not a feeling.

Shift after shift

Conditioning

Hockey isn't a 5K. It's repeated high-output efforts on incomplete recovery. Train to preserve performance deep into the third.

Positions you can reach

Mobility

Hips, ankles, thoracic spine — assessed, not stretched blindly. Horsepower is useless in positions you can't access.

The other 22 hours

Recovery

Training stress is managed against your game calendar, so adaptation happens on schedule — not at the cost of Saturday's game.

Fuel

Nutrition

Rest day ≠ tournament day. Meals, macros, substitutions, and shopping guidance matched to your workload and goals.

The Stride Principle

Train the limiter.

Two players. Same sport. Completely different prescriptions. That's why Stride starts with measurement — not a template.

A

Strong but slow

Excellent max force. Poor acceleration. Average bar velocity. More squatting won't fix this.

  • Velocity & explosive-intent work
  • Acceleration & ballistic training
  • Plyometrics to express the strength
B

Fast but weak

Explosive, quick, great first step — with a low force ceiling that caps everything else.

  • Build maximum strength
  • Raise the force-producing ceiling
  • Keep the speed while adding horsepower
?

What's yours?

Powerful but poorly conditioned? Mobile but lacking force? Your assessments decide — not a template.

  • Baseline testing builds your profile
  • Stride finds the weak link
  • Your program attacks it

The Season

Training that knows
what month it is.

Your game schedule is part of the prescription. Far from competition: bigger stress, bigger adaptation. Close to puck drop: readiness and movement quality, minus the fatigue. Build in the summer, sharpen in the fall, maintain through the grind, peak for playoffs.

May – Aug

Off-season

Build the engine. Strength, speed, and the biggest gains of your year.

Sep – Oct

Pre-season

Convert summer strength to ice speed. Tryout-ready conditioning.

Nov – Feb

In-season

Maintain, recover, stay out of the trainer's room. Short, smart sessions.

Mar – Apr

Playoffs

Peak when it matters. Taper the load, sharpen the details.

It starts with measurement

Your game, measured.

Vertical jump. 10-meter acceleration. Flying-10. Blue-line-to-blue-line. Bar velocity. Mobility screens. Your assessments build an Explosiveness Score and Pure Speed profile — then retesting closes the loop: assess, train, reassess, adapt.

Explosiveness Score · This Block

Blue Line to Blue Line+7%
Bar Velocity+12%

On the ice

Your watch knows
if it's working.

Apple Watch brings game data into the system — heart rate, movement, speed, shift activity — alongside the stats you log: goals, assists, plus/minus. Training performance meets hockey performance, so the question isn't "did you finish your workout?" It's "did it make you better?"

Nutrition Engine

Fuel like it's game seven.

A rest day isn't a tournament day. Stride matches nutrition to your workload, game schedule, body composition goal, and food preferences — structured meals, macros, substitutions, and shopping guidance that shift with the week.

What is Stride?

A hockey performance system, not a workout library. Stride measures your speed, explosiveness, strength, and mobility to build a performance profile, identifies what's limiting your game, prescribes training to fix it, and adapts as you retest and improve.

How is Stride different from other hockey training apps?

Most apps hand every athlete the same four-week program. Stride trains the limiter: a strong-but-slow player gets velocity, acceleration, and plyometric work; a fast-but-weak player builds their force ceiling. Same sport, different athlete, different prescription.

What does Stride measure?

Standardized assessments including vertical jump, 10-meter acceleration, flying-10 speed testing, blue-line-to-blue-line skating speed, strength and bar-velocity data, and hip, ankle, and spinal mobility. Together these build your Explosiveness Score and Pure Speed profile.

Does Stride train around my game schedule?

Yes. Stride treats your hockey calendar as part of the prescription: far from competition means bigger training stress and adaptation; close to puck drop means readiness, movement quality, and less fatigue. The rule: don't win the workout and lose the game.

Does Stride work with Apple Watch?

Yes. Apple Watch data — heart rate, movement, speed, and shift activity — combines with your manually entered stats like goals, assists, and plus/minus to connect training performance with actual hockey performance.
